The Laboratory LAGOA -Laboratory of Molecular Organic Geochemistry and Environmental Chemistry of LADETEC - IQ - UFRJ (formalized in 1989) is a "thematic" laboratory, conceived to congregate the activities related to organic geochemistry and environmental chemistry. Performed and ongoing research have been contributing to geochemical prospecting for pretroleum, evaluation of environment pollution in general, oil spills in the sea and monitoring urban and rural air quality, as well as air quality in the Amazon Forest, and in special, the effect of land burning.
